OCR Feature

How to apply eValid to functional testing of web applications.

OCR Feature

Postby unsigned » Wed Jan 16, 2008 1:33 pm

Actually i was interested in CAPBAK product becouse of its ability
optically recognise characters, but the reply email contained licence
file for eValid. As much as i have figured out eValid does not have OCR
capabilities. Am i right? eValid would also be interesting for our
company if it would be capable of working with Oracle Forms 10g and
would be able to recognise forms in web application as objects.

Thanks for writing.

Yes, eValid does not have an OCR feature, and yes, CAPBAK/MSW
did but it was never very effective because at the very BEST
it was always an OCR engine trying to recognize characters with
too few pixels.

All of our technology development has been put into the web
browser enabled application arena -- that being where the
main interest these days is.

We have several customers who report VERY good results with
eValid using Oracle 9i and we suspect that 10g will work
equally well.

Do you have a typical website (that we can see) that illustrates
your 10g application? If you find eValid doesn't work with
that let us know and we'll happily create a script that
illustrates eValid with it.
