I can't select option Application Mode correctly

How to apply eValid to functional testing of web applications.

I can't select option Application Mode correctly

Postby josecarn » Fri Oct 09, 2009 4:12 pm

Hello

Thanks for your explanations.

I have a little problem about recording a simple script ".evs".

With the version v8 I recorded a lot of scripts and I don't have any problem
with it.

Now with the version v9 when I try to record a script ".evs" I can't select
the option Advanced Recording > Application Mode F12. This little problem
makes that I can't record scripts using the same way of doing with the
version V9.

Can you tell me how can I do to select this option Application Mode?

If I can't select this option correctly like with the version v8, I will not
recording the scripts .evs like the newest version v8

Thanks

Are you sure you are actually recording. If you are not in recording
mode then eValid will not allow you to act on any of the pull-down
menus...they will show as greyed out...

I try to select Application Mode

The error is:

Thanks for writing.

We have tried eValid V9 here and the application mode works fine.

The best solution will probably be to re-install eValid...
you don't have to remove it, just re-install on top of the
current installation.

Also, do you have IE 6 or later?

Some of eValid's work is done on libraries that accompany the
IE installation on your machine, and if you don't have a current
IE version -- IE 7 is recommended -- then you may be missing
some key libraries.

After a more in depth revisit of your earlier reported error, I was able to replicate the same in-house. It turns out that the ...library... in question is from the eValid environment only.

If you did not install V9 ontop of an existing V8 folder, then the necessary libraries are not present. We have just updated our downloadable bundled executables to reflect such states.

Sorry for any/all inconveniences caused. If you can please RE-DOWNLOAD anew from:

ftp://ftp.soft.com/pub/windows/evalid/evalid9.exe

and install again.

The current V9 Build#291 will now work correctly with "Application Mode" enabled.

Please give this a try and let me know if you have any further issues or questions.
