Yes it can.

If you are working in the cybersecurity area then you already know that to find an XSS vulnerability you need to be looking for specific patterns in the delivered HTML of the application. When you see the pattern you have an indicatation that there may be a problem; usually the procedure is to us the information about the existence of a pattern in a page to feed into either a manual or automated test process that will confirm the problem (or absolve the application).

XSS is only one type of vulnerability; there are dozens of different ones that can be searched for using eValid.
