I've got this really weird web page that I have to test and the content gets repopulated over time and it takes maybe 5 minutes before it "settles down".
How does eValid handle this, so that my tests are "good" every time?
Thanks
Ouch!
That is a problem, thanks for posting RJensen.
The page-settling time, as it is often called, can be a big problem for web application testing.
Unless you wait long enough, your validation step will probably fail.
Two solutions come to mind.
(1) Set up a synchronizing step of some kind based on a content item that you know will be present in the FINAL page content.
You can use a range of commands to do this, including:
http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documen ... mmary.html(2) If you know that an N-minute wait will assure stability, then you could just wait out the time and then simply refresh the page using the built-in command:
Reload
Reload wid
(You don't have to specify a window id "wid" if there is only one window).
However, sometimes a Reload will cause the entire "content not stable" issue to resurface.
Caution is advised.
