More details on the eValid User Agent String

Postby RobertC » Mon Jun 01, 2020 11:58 am

Hello.

I am interested in more details on the eValid User Agent feature.

Can you give me an illustration of how eValid can manipulate the User Agent String?

Thanks

Sure, no problem RobertC.

Please take a look at this page:

http://e-valid.com/Products/Documentati ... ation.html

This shows how eValid can be made to emulate various version of IE as well as any other browser for which you can find the appropriate User Agent String (UAS).

Remember, changing the UAS affects how the server tailors the page to match the requirements of the specific browser.

Many websites don't care, and deliver HTML that is "agnostic" to the specific browser.

But important applications don't do this and the UAS modification capability is important for confirming page operation in all cases.
