I was wondering how does eValid handle recordings Flash-Based webpages?

Flash is kind of old fashioned, but here you go...

Flash-based pages cannot be recorded normally in eValid because such pages appear as if they were "graphical objects" to the eValid browser.

This prevents the use of standard object-oriented recording methods and, instead, requires a special approach using Absolute Events.

We've found this to be a very reliable method for reproducing tests of Flash-based objects.

Start by enabling the "Absolute Left Clicks & Drags" option for simple Flash-based pages to have right click mouse movements, and turn on Mouseover Support for more complex Flash-based pages.

To enable the "Absolute Left Clicks & Drags" command directly without accessing the preferences, press the "F11" key at any time during recording.

Pressing "F11" again will turn this feature off.

To enable other absolute recording options of eValid follow these simple steps:

(1) Navigate to the site to be tested.

(2) Start recording.

(3) Access the eValid preferences by clicking on "Settings > Record/Play Advanced Preferences" or by pressing the shortcut, "Ctrl + Alt + F2"

(4) Select "Absolute Events" from the preferences.

(5) Set the appropriate option desired.

(6) Click on the "OK" button to use these settings in your current recording.

Note: During the recording process you should switch off as many of the Absolute Events options as you can.

Leaving them all on tends to generate scripts that are too long and may have unwanted commands.

Extra commands may interfere with 100% reliable playback.

Some experimentation to get the right combination is normal.
