If the ID tag of a page element is blank, then the adaptive playback feature won't work in every case.

The problem is, when the ID tag is blank, there are too many matches for a blank tag. The convention is that the ID tags in a page are all unique, and that is one of the main "pivots" upon which eValid's adaptive playback can operate. When the page has changed, eValid will search the page for the [presumably correct] location, based on ID tag match. If you eliminate that possibility by there being a blank ID tag, then, indeed, the feature can't work.

However, there are some commands that CAN perform adaptive playback on any user-specified page element property. These commands are part of the "structural testing" sub-family of commands that operate on page geometry rather than specific content.
