Yes, in very unusual cases, the Adaptive Playback capability to adapt to page changes can produce strange results. That's why eValid has the command pair
Adaptive OFF / Adaptive ON so you can control this.
But your concern is a real one, because there is a real risk here that because of how Adaptive Playback works you will hide an actual error that you would want to know about. That's why we recommend, in the checkout phase of a script, that you read the WARNING messages in the EventLog file to make sure that the instances where adaptive playback compensates for something are correct.
In other words, you probably are wise to "check the checker" to have perfect confidence in the test behavior.
