Application mode

Postby danfla » Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:42 pm

No, eValid does not record/playback these things for me in;

1. Here http://www.huewebstudio.com/contact-2/en/
Zoom In, Zoom Out
Close the bubble (with the adress)

2. Here http://www.huewebstudio.com/portfolio-2/en/
Flash is not recognized

---------------------------
eValid
---------------------------
Unable to write Playback Summary file "C:\Program Files\Software Research\e=
Valid\Program\Project\Group\test-SUM.html"
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Thank you for the follow-up.

(1) To record/play this you'll need Application mode...becasue the
map image is not DOM-oriented.

* In addition to its ability to record/play/analyze web-faced applications,
eValid includes a capability to record non-browser applications, and
also desktop objects. Please see:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documentation.9/Advanced.Testing/application.mode.html

Also, you may gain confidence from our worked maps examples:

* Here is an example of AJAX usage that shows how eValid's
SyncOnSelectedObjectProperty works to synchronize an playback in
the Google Maps application:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documentation.9/Support/GoogleMaps/example1.html

* Here is an example of AJAX usage that shows how eValid's
SyncOnSelectedObjectProperty works to synchronize playback in the
Microsoft "maps.live.com" (http://www.virtualearth.com) AJAX application:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documentation.9/Support/MapsLive/example.html

(2) If you use the pagemap you'll see that FLASH is seen in the
browser as an opaque object. To record/play in FLASH take a look at
this manual page:

* Flash objects are "opaque" to all testing systems, including eValid.
None of the internal structure of a Flash object is visible from the
outside. Because Flash objects are opaque they often present
record/play difficulty, but they can be tested quite reliably with eValid.
For details see:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documentation.9/Advanced.Testing/flash.cookbook.html

(3) If your recording can't be written you have a permissions problem.

Can you change the permissions so that an application like eValid
can write?

Better, create a new folder for which you DO have read/write
permissions. There you'll be able to save your script.
