How to use eValid to support regression testing.

A just-recorded sync on text window

Why does a just-recorded sync on text window so often fail the first time?

On this, we assume you are talking about a "sync on screen rectangle" command that trys to sync on a desktop window fragment.

The most common reason for this is an interaction between the Windows operating system and eValid that is know and apparently can't be fixed (it has to some with some internal operating system timing issue).

The problem is, that when the playback of your "sync on screen image" runs, that eValid may read some of the pixels in the flashing border (that shows you where eValid is trying to do the sync) in trying to compute the checksum it is looking for.

The two fixes are (a) turn off that feature and (b) [probably better, and more effective] adjust the stated checksum value in the eValid script to match what the EventLog says eValid is seeing there. We've found that (b) is the quickest and easiest and most reliable.
