Does running an eValid agent to collect data impose any risks on the driver machine?

The short answer is "no, no risk at all".

We have done this very successfully. We have put an eValid instance on a production-level server, schedule the eValid runs on that server, and collect the data remotely in our eValidator system. And it works very well.

But computers can be difficult and unruly. So while we have done the above quite successfully, it would be somewhat safer to put the eValid operation on a separate machine (or machine image on the same VM setup). That way any problem with eValid could never infect the main application.

Just being prudent here...the conservative approach is best in the long term.
