Mimic eValid to work like other browsers platforms

Postby JudithS » Thu May 03, 2018 9:55 am

Morning.

I have a question:

Can eValid pretend to be a different kind of browser so I can confirm that a website works OK for lots of different users?

Thanks

Great question JudithS.

The key to doing this is to be aware of how the "user agent string" can be used to identify the type of browser you're using -- and tell the server to deliver pages as if it were to a different type
of browser.

Here is the webpage describing how this operates:

http://e-valid.com/Products/Documentati ... ation.html

The user agent string is a kind of standard and here is website that will tell you the data about YOUR browser:

http://www.useragentstring.com

The example on the eValid manual page shows one script begin tried on several different browsers.

Shoot us an email if you need further assistance.
