Thanks for posting your question Cindy Lou.

The Validate Saved Window/Window-Face Commands (in eValid Ver. 4) enable users to see what is actually happening in an unattended playback activity by taking periodic screenshots of the window state as specified in the script and then validating the image by comparing it with baselined files.

The user has an option to Validate & Save a complete window or just the client area of a window.

Follow these simple steps to be able to Validate & Save a complete window or the client area of a window:

(1) Start your recording.

(2) Record a series of interactions which will decide the result to be displayed in the status page

(3) Once the status page is displayed, insert either of the two Validate & Save Commands by clicking one of these options:

eValid > Record Mode > Validate > & Save > Window Face

or

eValid > Record Mode > Validate > & Save > Window

These will result in one of these additional eValid commands being added to your script file:

ValidateSavedWindowFace id "Name of File With Window Face"

or

ValidateSavedWindow id "Name of File With Window"

(4) On playback, eValid will take a screenshot of the complete window, or the client area of the window, as specified in the script.

eValid compares that file it with the baseline file taken during recording and issues an error if differences are detected.
