Multiple Playback Question

Postby UserD » Fri Oct 03, 2008 11:42 am

What would you say would be a good average of amount of simultanious
scripts you can run on a normal Windows XP machine?

Just looking for a general indication?

If the test scripts are all desktop safe then this is like in server loading...you
can have dozens or even hundreds...

But to make SURE that the machine load does not affect the accuracy of
timing, I'd recommend a max of 10-20 simultaneous playbacks...

With the MULT feature key there's no limit...

* Scripts that are to be played back in multi-threaded monitoring playbacks,
or for multi-usr load test scenarios, may need to be "desktop safe"
to prevent one [or more] playbacks from interfering with each other.
The "desktop safe" mode for eValid playbacks is described here:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... .safe.html

If they are NOT desktop safe, then you have to Lock/Unlock
each script that uses the desktop so that two (or more)
don't step on each other. That serializes the machine among those
competing playbacks and you probably will be limited to five or
fewer in that mode...your mileage will vary depending on the
script length and details...
