What can eValid Site Analysis do besides find broken links

Postby StevieM » Thu Nov 05, 2015 9:21 am

Hiya

A simple question:

Other than finding broken links, what is the best feature of eValid's Site Analysis?

Thanks

Thanks for the post StevieM.

While knowing about any broken or incorrect links, the scanning of pages in detail is probably the best feature of eValid Site Analysis.

Pages that have not been changed in a while may signal a maintenance problem...or out of date information.

Likewise, pages that exceed a size threshold may be candidates for editing...smaller pages generally result in faster website performance.

You can do positive and negative scans for strings or regular expressions. Strings scans are quick. Regular expression scans will be slower, but are more powerful.

This can yield results as simple as confirming the existence of a specific string anywhere on a scanned site, to identifying malware of various kinds, usually signalled by use of particular passages of JavaScript.

What we generally recommend it to find a sequence of required scans, each one searching for something different that would be a problem, and then running them in off-hours in batch mode.
