Comparing Two Websites

Postby leonardb » Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:56 pm

I need to do a "before and after" comparison of a client's website...

The good news is that they have differnent starting URL, but the bad news is that they probably are structurally completely different.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for writing...sorry for the slowish reply...we were closed over the New Years Weekend!

To be honest, comparing two struturally different websites automatically is going to be pretty difficult. What we would recommend is to run the eValid site analysis scans on each of them, using as simliar as possible constraints and instructions, and the do a visual side-by-side comparison of the reports.

For example you could print out the two complete URL tables and compare them visually...that might be very revealing.

It would be nice to have some more detail to build on to help point you in the right direction...can you supply?
