eValid LoadTest Query

Use and application of the eValid server loading (LoadTest) capability. And in the cloud computing context for monitoring and loading.

eValid LoadTest Query

Hiya

While I was working on LoadTesting in eValid tool, I got some questions
please clarify my doubts.

1. Does eValid has application connectors for example like Hyperion
Essbase,IBM WebSphere MQ and Oracle Forms

2.For n tiered architecture, Is it possible to measure performance of each
tier

3.Can the load on the servers be dyanamically controlled ?

4.Is it possible to distribute the engine across multiple machine.

1. Actually, with eValid if you can see it in the evalid
browser -- what "it" is -- you can test it. Oracle forms
are know to be OK, and any -- repeat, ANY -- application
that comes forward into the browser has a "connector".

The commonality that I think you are looking for is that
every aspect of a web browser enabled application reveals
itself in the browser in one way or another. eValid's
architecture, in which the test functionality is implemented
INSIDE the browser, eliminates the need for plugins or addons
or any other kind of support structure.

This simplicity, which may not be completely apparent, is
your friend...it saves the day because it is universal.

2.For n tiered architecture, Is it possible to measure performance of each tier

2. eValid is a Server Loading solution. The goal is to
impose the load in a 100% realistic way, by running scripts
that incorporate totally real playbacks in parallel.

Accordingly, evalid does not even try to look at the performance
details on the server stack. Besides, there are really excellent
tools for doing that...

* We recommend use of existing performance monitoring appliances
to "close the loop" during server loading experiments. You
can see how to do for IIS and Linux servers at:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... .data.html
http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... .data.html

Similar technologies, very powerful indeed, will do THAT part
of the server loading process.

3.Can the load on the servers be dyanamically controlled ?

3. The main method for eValid loading experiments is to
have a sequence of scenarios that you launch while studying
their effect on the server. Local environment variables
can be used to control, for example, the length of wait
times.

* There is a built-in capability to pre-specify values for
parameters in an eValid script, described in detail here:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... ables.html

* In server loading you may want to ramp up the load over time, as
explained here:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... mping.html

4.Is it possible to distribute the engine across multiple machine

4. Yes, using multiple driver machines is normal...
