eValid Setup

Use and application of the eValid server loading (LoadTest) capability. And in the cloud computing context for monitoring and loading.

eValid Setup

Postby lupin » Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:51 pm

Here is the scenario:

1. I want to have an e-valid server
2. I want to have e-valid locally as well
3. I want to record the e-valid scripts in the local machine.
4. I want to place the scripts recorded locally into the e-valid server
5. I want to run the scripts located into the e-valid server using
e-valid in the local machine

Note: In order to access to the "e-valid server" is by using a VPN.

Is this scenario possible? if so, would this impact the performance results?

Actually, a script recorded "here" will playback "there" just fine.
Either way.

So if you record the script locally, then transfer the script.evs
file to the [remote] server, then if you VPN to the remote server
and have THAT eValid copy load up the script and play it then
it will play on the remote machine (but you control that
with the VPN'd keyboard/mouse/screen)...

On the remote playback I don't think that the VPN connect overhead
will be very substantial, but if you want to you can use a batch
command on BOTH machines to produce comparable eventlogs...

* eValid has ~60 switches that control executions from the Windows command
line, described here:
