Why is scaling so important?

Use and application of the eValid server loading (LoadTest) capability. And in the cloud computing context for monitoring and loading.

Why is scaling so important?

Hey all new poster to the forum.

Why is scaling so important?

I mean can't I just run 100 VMs and have the same
effect are with one VM and an eValid that runs 100 BUs?

Thanks

Hi LJackson thanks for posting.

You can, but it is 100x as hard and costs 100x as much.

If you use the one-VM-per-user approach you'll have to have
1,000 VMs if you want to drive your application with 1,000
users (user equivalents).

But if you use eValid, each VM can run 100 browser users (BUs),
so it only takes 10 VMs to run 1,000 BUs.

That's a 100:1 difference in effort, time, cost, and complexity.

In most engineering applications a 100:1 saving is big enough
to be compelling.

It should be true in this case, as well.
