Hey eValid people.

I want to have two simulated users talk to each other during the test.

How do I do that with eValid?

Good question, thanks for asking PDaniels.

There are several eValid features that are used to accomplish this.

The main vehicle of communication to/from the local environment is through use of the environment variables feature.

That feature reads from a local file and puts values into the available memory of the playback engine. Here is the manual page:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... ables.html

Basically, what's going on is:

(1) The EnvironmentVariables FILE reads values into the current playback environment, assigned as $NAME parametes.o

(2) The SaveRecord FILE command can write the valueo any locally defined $NAME parameter -- plus various other specific test related data items -- in to FILE.

So one gets data into the playback context, and the other one gets data in and the other gets data out.

So you communicate with local variables.

Then use the Lock/Unlock commands with Waits or Delays to make sure you're good.

Have fun!
