What is the maximum number of BUs you have succeeded in running against a website?

There is no actual upper bound on the total number BUs given that you have enough CPU horsepower. But there are practical limits.

For one thing, it appears that somewhere above 10,000 BUs you tend to run into test scenarios that demand over 1 Gbps in bandwidth...and this tends to saturate (and therefore, disqualify) the test machine results. Also, there is a possibility that at that high level you could be viewed as trying to mount a "denial of service" attack on the target website...and who wants the FBI or the CIA after them?

On the other hand, we have actually found that even when we program the scenario to head to 10,000 BUs we never really get the application to respond beyond 3,000 or more. It appears that, with some exceptions of course, that most websites don't ever get that heavy usage. Exceptions here would include Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo!, and Google...but that kind of website is "different" from what eValid is designed to drive.

Bottom line: 10,000 BUs.
