How to confirm a correct image is present on the page

Postby RobHerr » Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:38 pm

Good afternoon.

How can I confirm an image delivered to a page is the one that is supposed to be there?

Thanks

Thanks for your post RobHerr.

Indeed, images can be hacked as well as everything else.

In this era of "fake news" you can't be too careful: what you see is not necessarily what is true.

If you have a base "truth" you can use eValid in desktop mode to confirm an image.

Here is the manual page:

http://e-valid.com/Products/Documentati ... .rect.html

Fair warning, this only confirms the exact match for that particular image on that particular run and at that particular time.

Accordingly, for greater confidence you may want to put this kind of image checking in a "monitoring mode" operation -- that is, run the check at regular intervals all the time and issue a warning if a change is detected.
