What will keep eValid from runing continuously?

There are many kinds of actions that will "block" eValid from 100% continuous operation. We assume, here, that you mean you want continuous operation because you are in some kind of monitoring mode, or repetitive playback mode.

Assuming that your computer is running and the application being tested is also running, then the kinds of things that will block eValid are very few.

For example, if the application is very slow, then eValid may time out at some point, but even if you hit multiple timeouts eValid still is in control -- it is just not doing much useful work.

Another example is when you have "bad JavaScript" that includes an infinite loop. Unlike IE, the eValid engine does not check and suppress infinite loops in JavaScript, so if that happens eValid may appear to "freeze". In this case, however, one or more of the "maximum time limits" will hit and control will go back to whatever invoked eValid.

So the bottom line answer is, "...very little" will actually block eValid.
