eValid Interaction With Windows

Postby unsigned » Mon May 12, 2008 2:47 pm

I am looking at the tools and I am not really getting any of my expectation;
as this is only considered as DEMO.

Ok, I am looking for (the Return Code) (Pass/failed) after any of our
transaction test and that what will be passing on to our tools to continue
with its function process.

eValid will test a GUI small application and pass the results to our Tools.

I need that our tool can open a log file and read a certain field "value"
and used it to continue or to fail the process.

1- Is It Ok to be able to obtain a Return Code (RC) from one if the
statistic files?

2- What the cost of one user license as it will be used of our automated
tool?

(1) The EventLog shows ERROR if there was an error, etc.

Return codes exist for batch runs of eValid.

* eValid has ~60 switches that control executions from the Windows command
line, described here:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... rface.html

So you're right, have your own system open the EventLog, grep for
ERROR, and act accordingly.

Another way is to use a CustomLog...

* eValid has the capability to create a custom subset of the regular
event log data, called a "custom log", by filtering the data with
a user-selected set of options or keywords/strings:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/Documen ... lters.html

The filter then would be ERROR and only ERROR messages would show up.

(2) It sounds like you're using eValid somehow to monitor...and
if that's correct you probably want the Application Monitorin Bundle
(AMB)...

* Here are the prices for the standard combinations of eValid
Monitoring Master and Agent stations:

http://www.e-Valid.com/Products/agent.pricelist.8.html

If this doesn't answer, give me a call...
