Good question.

Turns out we believe that you can fully test web browser applications as they are served to ANY mobile device by having eValid simulate the mobile device.

Here is how to Start eValid With a Specific User Agent String. If you run this command eValid comes up on your desktop ready to test the mobile device of your choice. All eValid functionality is there, and it applies 100% to the HTML sent by the server to eValid as if it is supporting a mobile device.

This approach gives rise to the eValid Mobile Device Testing Solution, which we think is a very complete solution for testing on these kinds of devices.

You can even handle AJAX and you can do this in the LoadTest mode. Here is the result of eValid's Mobile Agent Loading Experment #1. In this example we emulated an iPhone and applied linearly increasing load, up to 1,000 simultaneous users, to a web server. The chart in the writeup illustrates how we determined that the capacity of the server was about 200 simultaneous users.
