Morning all.

eValid seems to be a neat product.

I'm interested in using eValid for Site Analysis.

Can you tell me more about the Scanning Preferences features in eValid?

Thanks

Sure thing, thanks for asking buddyG.

Site analysis is the general capability to do a recursive descent search from a starting web page to all of the links it mentions, and then continue that search until certain user-specified limits are reached.

No, this is not a search-engine spider.

The feature runs with entirely browsed (and rendered) pages, so it does not scale well enough to be useful as a web spider.

But for YOUR use in managing a particular website it does a good job.

Here is a general description of the constraints you can put on the scanning process:

The companion page (which is at a slightly higher level):

http://e-valid.com/Promotion/SiteAnalysis/general.html

Have fun with the site analysis engine, and be prepared to learn things about your website that you may not necessarily be happy to learn!
