Very interesting question and one that is rather far from answering questions about and/or supporting eValid users.

But a fair question.

Of course, ultimately any enthical question you may have about testing will need to brought to the attention of your legal department.

It seems to us that software testers ought to "tell the truth" about what is found out about an application.

For example, if you find that an application you are testing is collecting personal information about the user by some trick or other, then this is potentially illegal and ought to be reported.

If you were the programmer, then this kind of question clearly poses difficult choices.
