The best way to understand where a script may have problems is to use the stop/start or Single-Step feature available from the Dashboard:

The Single-Step mode advances the playback through just one command.

In addition, here is a second advantage of having this kind of capability -- to study page timings:

Note that, in playback mode, the Dashboard will show you how many commands have been executed, how many URLs have been accessed, and basic facts about the timings of the script.
