Can you tell me when it is best to have "mouseover recording" turned on and off?

The element mousover recording option is controlled by the Alt-F11 function key. You toggle element mouseover recording ON/OFF with successive Alt-F11 presses.

The element mouseover recording option is very complete: it captures every element mouseover that happens, and thus if you have an action on your web page that is activated by an element mouseover, eValid will capture that.

The drawback, as you will see if you experiment some with this feature, is that in many cases when that recording mode is ON you get a lot of information in the script file. Actually, it might be fair to say a LOT of information...maybe too much.

Now, those extra recorded commands don't cause any harm, but the vastly expanded size of the script file may actually be a problem because of its size.

The very BEST way to use this feature is "as little as possible, but for sure when you need it." Which sounds simple enough, but it does require that you know your application fairly well.

When you know that a action is going to need element mouseovers to allow it to be captured for playback, then Alt-F11 the feature on...and watch the recording as it is created to confirm you've got the action you want. Then Alt-F11 it again, to turn it off. Normal state is OFF. Activate only when needed. OK?
