Overall, what is the "instrumentation overhead" that eValid sticks into the playback process?

The goal for any tool like eValid is to have the overhead by 0%!

But that really isn't possible, as we found out a long time ago.

Instead, we set the goal at 1:1,000 -- one part in 1,000, or 0.1%.

If the overheads are below that level then eValid is not in danger of being s self-defeating system.

So far, all of the overheads we measure meet the 0.1% criteria!
