eValid Recording Question

Discussion of the technology underlying the eValid solution.

eValid Recording Question

Postby unsigned » Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:02 pm

I ran eValid.

The test ran well, although it's not exactly what we want. We
know there's an applet limitation, as well as issues regarding
SiThinlet.

I just have to do my very last test with e-valid. We want to
check if you could simulate the test through the image recording

Thanks for the posting.

The limitation on Applet/Flash/ActiveX recording is not
something that we like at all, but it is a limitation imposed
on us. The advantage eValid has is that recording from
the eValid GUI of such objects is smooth and (once you learn
to goggle in/out of Application Mode) quick, and the playback
is very reliable.

Sorry, don't know what you mean by "...image recording"...but
I'm guessing that you're refering to my suggestion that
Applet/Flash/ActiveX is like a "image".

However, this may not be needed in every case. If an IMG
is inside an anchor tag and clicking it causes navigation,
then eValid records an ImageClick command, which is not
an application mode operation. Similar recordings actions
are sensed by eValid in a variety of other situations: eValid
can do this because the recording is from browser state,
not via HTTP traffic capture.
