Getting a lot of JavaScripts errors

Postby MollyO » Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:17 am

Afternoon:

I've noticed that a particular script that we have that is for our AJAX site runs OK with standard logging, but when we change the logging details from standard to detailed we get a LOT of JavaScript errors being reported.

What gives??

Thanks

Thanks for asking MollyO.

Detection of JavaScript (JScript) faults happens at several levels, and the reporting you are seeing when the EventLog detail level is set to "Detailed" is a result of the way the detailed timing is done.

Here is how you vary the detail level of the Log Output:

Technically there is a "browser helper object" that wraps around each browser interrogated page component; this is the object that records the byte count and the total element download time.

A byproduct of that is the generation of the Script Error messages, as described here:

However, even when the the EventLog detail level is set to "standard" or "simple" very severe JScript errors are still reported when they are detected by eValid.
