eValid's opinion on Microsoft adding WebDriver to IE Dev Kit

Postby SamathaW » Wed Nov 26, 2014 12:10 pm

Good afternoon:

There has been some new on the internet about Microsoft incorporating WebDriver in the IE developer kit?

What do your company think about this?

Thanks

Thanks for posting.

We think that is just super!

Really good news for the testing community.

Microsoft is incorporating into its Internet Explorer browser some facilities that have long been in eValid.

As the saying goes, "Imitation if the kindest form of flattery and the surest indicator of respect."

Here is the actual reference:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2990999

We would, with respect to Microsoft, like to point out that including a test API in the browser does not a functional and regression test tool make.

That is essential, but still leaves an enormous amount up to the programmer/tester... in particular, creating the test script.

That is where eValid has some clear advantages:

An integrated record and playback engine, capable of handling even the most complex web pages, and operating with a very clear and easy to use script language.

No programming required.
