Question about eValid's Pagemap feature

Postby CarolE » Mon Jul 13, 2015 8:37 am

Morning:

Why does the PageMap in eValid have so much less information than the "view page element" capability in Google Chrome browser?

Isn't more information better in this case?

Thanks

Thanks for posting your question CarolE.

You wouid think, but not really.

The purpose of "inspect element" in Chrome (and other browsers) is to give you a 100% complete description that may be useful in any number of different ways.

In eValid, the purpose of the PageMap is to support TESTING of the page, that is, creation of scripts that exercise, measure and validate page information.

We have tried to make this process as simple as possible.

So the Page Map, as described in the manual page below, is designed to provide what you NEED for testing, but not more than you need.

So, that really is a product design choice and we hope you agree that we made the right choice:

Give you what's useful but, not everything that is there!
