Does eValid lockup or freeze

Discussion of the technology underlying the eValid solution.

Does eValid lockup or freeze

Postby LenoreC » Wed Aug 26, 2015 12:04 pm

Hi.

I was wondering: Does eValid ever hang up?

I mean, freeze up and not do anything?

Be nice to know if this ever happens and if so is there any solution to this potential problem?

Thanks

Thanks for posting LenoreC.

Well, to be 110% honest, this product IS software so this is like asking "Does the sun rise in the East?"

There is, however, some hope in this regard.

Here are three methods that may help you out:

(1) If eValid hangs up (locks up) then you may have to use the "pskill" command to terminate the process.

Here's how that works:

(2) eValid, which uses the DLLs from the co-installed IE browser, won't stall more or less than the IE browser stalls.

Same browser, different control philosophy.

(3) There is a built-in "maximum download time" in the eValid settings that will interrupt playback that is stopped for whatever reason after the specified maximum number of milliseconds.

Here is the manual page for this option:
