How can one save some settings for each test case

Discussion of the technology underlying the eValid solution.

How can one save some settings for each test case

Postby VanessaH » Mon Sep 07, 2015 2:08 pm

Afternoon:

eValid has LOT of settings and adjustments a tester can customize for use during testings.

Can you tell me if there is an easy way to save and recover the collection of settings that I use for different test scenarios?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the question VanessaH.

That is a common question, and eValid has an excellent and simple solution.

There are a lot of different record/playback and behavior settings, and often it takes some time to arrive at the right combination.

Once you have such a set of settings -- called a "Profile" -- you can save (and recover) those settings for the machine that you're running on using the User Preferences Profile option.

Here is the manual page:

You may also want, at some time in your testing project, to "restore the default settgings, and this is easy to do by just loading the "Default" options (you're not able to modify this profile; it is built in).

Here for the record is the set of default settings:
