Questions about cookies

Postby JamieR » Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:27 am

Hello.

Can eValid control, delete or edit cookies?

Why is this an important feature in eValid?

Thanks

Thanks for asking JamieR.

First, the importance question.

For a test to "start from a constant place or state" -- one of the basic requirements of a scientific experiment -- the web browser should begin in the same place every time.

If you previously loaded files/pages/images into your browser cache, then the NEXT time you may not need to re-download them again.

Content-wise, this is of no matter, but if you are also looking at performance issues -- like speed of getting a complete new web pages -- the cache will get in the way.

Hence, eValid has the Cache Management capability, documented here:

http://e-valid.com/Products/Documentati ... ement.html

Primarily for LoadTest runs -- where performance measurement is critical -- you have the commands:

DeleteCookies

or

DeleteCache

which do what they say, immediately delete the cookies [only] or the entire Cache [necessarily including cookies].
