Yes, eValid has an API. It is called the eValid Programmatic Interface (EPI) and it is a C++ interface that exposes essentiall all of the eValid commands to use by a C++ program.

As eValid users know, one of our goals with the eValid product has been to provide sophisticated web testing support without requiring programming knowledge on the part of the user. Computer experience, yes; programming experience useful but not necessary.

The EPI system (check in the documentation for the full details about the EPI subsystem) has a separate license key and programs built with the EPI do require the special EPI feature key to execute.

Such programs are usually those which perform complex analyses of a web page and include dynamic modification of DOM values and other advanced "tricks of the trade" that programmmers know about and love. The resulting test program executables can do some very powerful actions including searching web pages, supporting SEO optimization, and so forth. There's virtually no limit to what can be done when you have a fully programmable browser at your fingertips.
