eValid spidering question

Postby JerryR » Mon Dec 23, 2013 11:18 am

Hey all. Season Greetings:

Can the eValid spidering engine be used on multiple websites?

How do you do that?

Thanks

Hey JerryR. Thanks for posting on the eValid forum and the holiday greetings.

You could create your own page which lists all of the websites you
want to scan and start your scan there. This makes all
of the websites in your list "children" of the parent
list and they will be visited as long as "Visit offsite pages"
is included. But that will only go one deep in them all.

But a much, much better way is to insert the list of websites
you want to scan by their starting URLs, comma delimited,
in the "Include Sites" section of the Select Domains settings page.

Then eValid will automatically visit all of the websites on
your list.

A word of caution: If you specify a list of websites that have
in aggregate more than 1,000 pages you may see some performance
problems as the scan gets near the end.
