Does eValid test mobile applications

How to apply eValid to functional testing of web applications.

Does eValid test mobile applications

Postby TorinT » Thu Feb 02, 2017 6:12 pm

Evening.

Some of my team are looking into testing tools.

One of the questions posed, but couldn't find a direct answer in your documentation:

Can eValid test a mobile app?

And if so, how long has eValid been able to so this and how reliable?

Thanks

Thanks for asking, always happy to help.

Actually, we have that already.

But to be precise, eValid as the ability to test a web application that supports delivery of material to a mobile browser.

The key here is to understand that eValid is a WEB TESTING engine, not a mobile device testing engine.

Testing devices per se is rather different from testing how a mobile device INTERACTS with a web server.

It is the interaction between the device and the server that eValid is focused on.

All of that said, the main method eValid uses is outlined in this summary of how to handle mobile devices:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documen ... ution.html

And, if you study this page you'll see that key key command is the ability in eValid to set the user agent string (UAS) to any value you wish.

Here is the eValid command:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documen ... ation.html

This means that you can test the interaction between a user and the server on a website, using the full capabilities of a modern browser (equivalent in capability to IE11) using a single system, for multiple browsers if you wish.
