How to validate a video with eValid

Postby CarlosG » Mon May 25, 2020 11:22 am

Hi.

Thanks for answering my earlier question.

A following up, how would I actually validate a video with eValid?

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks for asking and fair follow-up question CarlosG.

There are a lot of web pages that have video and audio.

Playing back is not an issue -- if the page automatically starts playback of a video/audio clip, then it will do so with eValid.

The question is, how do you validate the video portion?

Here is a summary of the validation modes available in eValid:

So, the answer is that you don't see something that involves video files.

So you have to supply something that does that on your Windows platform and then invoke it with a SystemCall command.

So -- and sorry to send you off without a clear answer -- to validate the video that it contains or doesn't contain something is not something that anyone really knows how to do very easily.

The best approach is to take screenshots but a 60-second video at 30 frames/second = 1800 frames, and that is a LOT of validation effort if you do it frame by frame.

Sorry to say, this falls into the category also of "how do you detect a fake video?

A so-called "deep fake."

This is a big issue; too big for a short answer.

FYI is a place to start:
